Date night at the ER

The day of our 2 year anniversary I came home from work to a sparkling clean house, the table set beautifully with our 'good' china, candles and a bottle of wine, and a bouquet of gorgeous flowers. Kyle was all prepared to make us dinner (keep in mind, he is not the usually chef at our house,) and I couldn't have been more surprised and delighted to see all the work he had put in to make our anniversary so special. It was all so romantic until.....a quick lawn mowing job before he started dinner put a kink in our plan and we would soon be spending our special day in the Emergency Room....
It was just a split second that Kyle reached his hand down to adjust the height of the mower that he jumped back with blood squirting from his finger like a leaking hose. The tip of his middle finger had been gnarled by the lawn mower, but he was lucky to not lose the nail, or even worse, his whole finger. We rushed to the ER laughing at how this was going to be "such a good story." Two hours, 15 stitches, and one huge white bandage later, he was all sown up and good to go. Needless to say, we postponed our romantic dinner to the next night and later that week Kyle finished the lawn, the rest of his 9 fingers in tact.
